Partido amistoso de pretemporada en el Rio Tinto Stadium de Sandy, Utah
Sandy, Utah, 24 de Junio de 2016._ El Club Tijuana superó (2-1) en el marcador al Club Santos Laguna de Torreón este viernes en el Rio Tinto Stadium de esta entidad de la Unión Americana, en el primer partido de pretemporada para los Xoloitzcuintles rumbo al Torneo Apertura 2016 de la LIGA MX.
Las anotaciones que le dieron el triunfo a los Xoloitzcuintles fueron obra de Gabriel Hauche al minuto 26 y de Luis Chávez al minuto 85, mientras que el conjunto verdiblanco marcó al minuto 19 por conducto de Jonathan Rodríguez.
Los Xoloitzcuintles van tomando forma en el sistema de juego que busca afianzar el Director Técnico Miguel Herrera de cara al inicio de la próxima campaña. Con una propuesta ofensiva en el que se incluyó a Milton Caraglio, Avilés Hurtado, Paul Arriola y Gabriel Hauche, en el eje de ataque, los Xoloitzcuintles generaron sensaciones positivas con jugadas cercanas al gol.
Además de los atacantes, Caraglio y Hurtado, los refuerzos Juan Carlos Medina, Emanuel Aguilera y Guido Rodríguez vieron acción por primera ocasión con la camiseta Xoloitzcuintle. Aguilera aportó seguridad en la zaga, en tanto Medina y Rodríguez se acompañaron bien en el medio campo para retomar el control del duelo en el primer tiempo.
Herrera realizó movimientos en la parte complementaria en la que aparecieron los juveniles Brandon Vázquez, Ángel Uribe, John Requejo, Miguel Rodríguez, Amando Moreno, así como a Juninho, Luis Chávez y Alejandro Guido, quien volvió a participar en un partido con el primer equipo tras superar una grave lesión en la rodilla derecha, la cual lo mantuvo alejado de la cancha desde Diciembre de 2015.
Federico Vilar se mostró seguro en el arco y portó la cinta de Capitán en este encuentro. Juan Carlos Valenzuela, Greg Garza y Juan Carlos Núñez también tuvieron acción a lo largo del encuentro con un buen trabajo defensivo.
Ahora los Xoloitzcuintles se enfocan en la preparación del segundo encuentro amistoso de esta pretemporada, el cual se dará el próximo 29 de Junio ante el Club Cruz Azul en el Memorial Coliseum de Los Ángeles, California.

CLUB TIJUANA BEATS SANTOS IN UTAH
Xoloitzcuintles opens preseason matches with 2-1 win at Rio Tinto Stadium
SANDY, Utah (June 24, 2016)- Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles started the preseason with a 2-1 win against Club Santos Laguna in an exhibition match at Rio Tinto Stadium.
Luis Chavez found the net for the Xoloitzcuintles in the 85th minute to lead the Xoloitzcuintles past Santos in the home stadium of Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake.
Chavez bent in a shot from about 25-yards out past Santos goalkeeper Julio Gonzalez, who did not stand a chance. Chavez sent his left-footed shot to the roof of the net, just underneath the crossbar for the win.
Gabriel Hauche scored for the Xoloitzcuintles while Jonathan Rodriguez found the net for Santos. Rodriguez gave Santos a 1-0 lead when he took a loose ball off a corner kick and sent in a right-footed blast past Club Tijuana goalkeeper Federico Vilar in the 19th minute.
Coach Miguel Herrera’s team answered the Santos goal with a right-footed blast from Hauche. The Argentine striker didn’t waste his chance, sending the ball past Gonzalez, the Santos goalkeeper, in the 26th minute.
The exhibition match helped Herrera take a look at some of his offseason signings. Emanuel Aguilera, Milton Caraglio, Juan Carlos Medina, Guido Rodriguez and Aviles Hurtado saw playing time as starters. Chula Vista native and former Unde-17 squad starter Brandon Vazquez saw his first minutes with the senior team as he came on as a second half substitute.
Chavez also came on as a second half sub and it was only a matter of moments before he sent in the winning goal.
The preseason match against Santos is part of a mini tour through the United States for the Xoloitzcuintles. Herrera’s team began the tour in Utah and will then head to Los Angeles to play Cruz Azul June 29 at the Memorial Coliseum. The third preseason match is set for July 2 against Cimarrones de Sonora in Hermosillo, Mexico while the final preseason match is in Yuma, Ariz. against Monarcas Morelia. The Xoloitzcuintles will then open the LIGA MX 2016 Apertura against Morelia July 15 at Estadio Caliente.
