CLUB TIJUANA WOMEN’S TEAM IS RUNNER UP IN COPA MX
Club Tijuana 1-9 Pachuca CF; COPA MX, Championship Final
TOLUCA, Mexico (May 6, 2017) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles women’s team finished as the runner up to the LIGA MX 2017 Clausura Copa MX tournament with a 9-1 loss to Pachuca FC Saturday in the championship final.
Pachuca started fast with a second minute goal by Berenice Muñoz and didn’t look back. Pachuca scored more before halftime as Yamile Franco (6th minute), Diana Garcia (17th) and Muñoz (20th) all found the net.
Club Tijuana responded with its goal in the 34th minute. Inglis Hernandez scored for the Xoloitzcuintles.
Pachuca went on to add goals by Monica Ocampo (36th and 40th), Yamile Azenek (44th), Muñoz (50th) and Lizbeth Angeles (66th).
The Xoloitzcuintles coached by Andrea Rodebaugh finished the tournament after having won its first three games, all in the group stage played at the new Mexican soccer federation headquarters.
