Tijuana, Baja California, 12 de Agosto de 2016._ El Club Tijuana consumó su quinta victoria en la LIGA MX-Apertura 2016 este viernes 12 de Agosto en el Estadio Caliente, tras superar (2-0) al Club León, en duelo correspondiente a la Fecha 5.
Las anotaciones que le otorgaron el triunfo al cuadro dirigido por el Director Técnico Miguel Herrera fueron obra de Dayro Moreno y de Avilés Hurtado.
Dayro Moreno abrió el marcador al minuto 14 del primer tiempo con un excelso cobro desde el manchón penal, mientras que Avilés Hurtado cerró la cuenta al minuto 83 con un tiro bombeado desde fuera del área.
Con este resultado, los Xoloitzcuintles llegaron 12 e hilvanaron su tercer partido consecutivo sin recibir gol en el Mictlán producto de una buena actuación del guardameta Federico Vilar, quien fue un pilar fundamental en el primer tiempo al contener tres llegadas peligrosas de los Panzas Verdes.
Los Canes Aztecas se prepararán ahora para su enfrentamiento de la Fecha 4 de la COPA Corona MX ante Lobos BUAP, a realizarse este miércoles 17 de Agosto (19:00 horas Pacífico) en la Frontera Norte.

CLUB TIJUANA BEATS CLUB LEON 2-0 IN WEEK 5 LIGA MX ACTION
Xoloitzcuintles remain undefeated at home with goals by Moreno and Hurtado
TIJUANA–(Aug. 12, 2015) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles continues to add points at home. This time, coach Miguel Herrera’s team beat visiting Club Leon 2-0 Friday night in a Week 5 match of the LIGA MX 2016 Apertura.
Dayro Moreno and Aviles Hurtado scored for the home side while a stifling defense and goalkeeper Federico Avilar kept a third-straight shutout at Estadio Caliente.
The win gives the Xoloitzcuintles 12 points in the standings with a 4-1 record with its only loss coming in Week 2 at Club Puebla. Leon remains winless with one point in the standings and a 0-4-1 record.
Club Tijuana took a 1-0 lead when Moreno converted a penalty kick in the 14th minute after Leon’s Fernando Novaretti took down Gabriel Hauche in the penalty area. Referee Marco Nava whistled the penalty kick a minute earlier.
Moreno rolled his shot past Leon goalkeeper William Yarbrough, who didn’t stand a chance at making a play. It was Moreno’s sixth goal of the season and 41st with Club Tijuana. Moreno celebrated the goal by sprinting to the opposite end of the field, jumping over the electronic board, climbed a set of stairs to find his wife and daughter. He delivered kisses to his family members and returned to the field to celebrate with teammates.
The rest of the team helped produce many scoring opportunities while it also defended as necessary. But Leon did not hold back.
The visiting team also had its share of dangerous attacks. Perhaps it’s clearest chances came when Elias Hernandez missed an open net seconds before halftime and Juan Cuevas blasted a shot off the Tijuana crossbar in the 64th minute.
Xoloitzcuintles goalkeeper Federico Vilar also had a lot to do with the shutout. The 16-year LIGA MX veteran from Argentina made a handful of saves. Perhaps his most noticeable in the 42nd minute when he dove to his left to block a shot, then stood up and blocked a shot to the other side while diving. Vilar often made sure Leon did not complete its plays.
Hurtado didn’t miss completing his scoring chance in the 83rd minute. He charged after a high bouncing pass and poked it over William Yarbrough, the Leon goalkeeper into an empty net.
The Xolos will now face Lobos BUAP Wednesday at home in Copa MX action and then head to central Mexico to face Club Necaxa in a Week 6 LIGA MX game.
