Guadalajara, Jalisco, 16 de septiembre de 2018._ El Club Tijuana venció
0-1 al Atlas FC en el duelo de la Jornada 9 de la LIGA MX-Apertura 2018,
disputado esta tarde en la cancha del Estadio Jalisco.
Desde el minuto 13’ del encuentro, el cuadro fronterizo se quedó con
diez hombres en el terreno de juego tras la expulsión de Juan Carlos
Valenzuela. Atlas también se quedó con un hombre menos luego de la
tarjeta roja mostrada a Lorenzo Reyes (37’).
El marcador se abrió hasta la parte complementaria. Al 55’, Luis
Fuentes remató de cabeza y convirtió el 1-0 definitivo a favor de los
dirigidos por el DT Diego Cocca.
Los Canes Aztecas llegan a 12 unidades producto de 3 partidos ganados,
3 empatados y 3 perdidos. En su próximo compromiso, los Xoloitzcuintles
recibirán al Club Pachuca el próximo sábado 22 de septiembre en el
Estadio Caliente (19:00 hrs Pacífico).

CLUB TIJUANA WINS ON THE ROAD
Atlas FC 0-1 Xoloitzcuintles, LIGA MX 2018 Apertura Week 9
GUADALAJARA, Mexico (Sept.16 2018) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles beat
host Atlas FC 1-0 Sunday at Estadio Jalisco.
Luis Fuentes scored in the 56th minute to help the Xoloitzcuintles to
its first road win of the LIGA MX 2018 Apertura.
Fuentes outjumped a pair of defenders and got to a corner kick, heading
in his shot past Atlas goalkeeper Jose Hernandez who stood and watched
the ball fly out of his reach.
The Week 9 win gives Club Tijuana three points in the standings. Coach
Diego Cocca’s team is now 3-3-3 with 12 points in the Mexican top-flight
league standings.
Fuentes’ goal came at a time in a match in which Cocca began to send
his lines upfield despite being down a man against an Atlas team that
also finished with 10-men. Attacking on the Atlas side resulted in a
corner kick by Ignacio Rivero, leading to Fuentes’ goal. Juan Carlos
Valenzuela was sent off in the 13th minute of the match for a hard foul
while Lorenzo Reyes was shown a red card in the 38th.
Atlas pressured and attacked late in the match but Club Tijuana was
able to hold defensively, including a save by goalkeeper Gibran Lajud at
the goal line in the 83rd minute.
Club Tijuana was coming off a break for the FIFA international date as
it heads into the second half of the season.
The Xoloitzcuintles will next host Pachuca FC Saturday Sept. 22 in a
Week 10 match (7:06 p.m. Pacific) at Estadio Caliente.
