CLUB TIJUANA TIES WITH SANTOS IN WEEK 6
Xoloitzcuintles 2-2, LIGA MX 2018 Apertura
TIJUANA (Aug. 22, 2018) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles played to a 2-2
tie against visiting Santos Laguna Wednesday in a LIGA MX match at
Estadio Caliente.
Diego Gonzalez (69th minute) and Eryc Castillo (87th) scored for the
Xoloitzcuintles but a 90th minute goal by Santos’ Julio Furch tied the
match. Brian Lozano had given Santos a 1-0 lead in the 47th minute of
the Week 6 match.
The tie gives Club Tijuana another point in the 2018 Apertura
standings. Coach Diego Cocca’s team is now 1-2-3 with six points.
Gonzalez put back a shot to tie the match. Lozano had given Santos the
1-0 lead when he sped past two defenders and finished a give-and-go play
with a blast past Club Tijuana goalkeeper Gibran Lajud. Eryc Castillo
then sent in his blast to give the home side the lead. It was the
Colombian strikers first goal with Club Tijuana. He beat a couple of
defenders before burying his shot past Santos goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo.
The Xoloitcuintles will now travel to face Veracruz Saturday in a Week 7
match.
