“ME VOY A BRINDAR AL MÁXIMO PARA LOGRAR COSAS IMPORTANTES CON XOLOS”: JULIÁN VELÁZQUEZ
El zaguero argentino se dice ilusionado de forjar una gran historia en la Frontera de Tijuana
Mazatlán, Sinaloa, 18 de Junio de 2018._ El DT Diego Cocca llamó directamente a Julián Velázquez y después de plantearle el proyecto Xoloitzcuintle para el Apertura 2018, el zaguero argentino no dudó y aceptó la invitación para formar parte del plantel Rojinegro. De inmediato se planteó objetivos claros: “me voy a brindar al máximo para lograr cosas importantes con Xolos”, dijo el defensor en su primer contacto con el portal oficial del Club Tijuana.
“Desde que recibí la llamada de Diego (Cocca), diciéndome que quería contar conmigo para esta nueva temporada, me puso contento que me llamara él directamente para iniciar esta nueva temporada en Xolos, fue algo muy lindo, no dudé en decir que sí por el interés que noté de parte del entrenador, del club, en ese sentido contento y agradecido por llegar a Tijuana”, comentó durante la pretemporada que realiza junto al plantel Rojinegro en el Puerto Sinaloense.
La ilusión de Velázquez es poder trascender en la Frontera de Tijuana, la clave será dar el cien por ciento y un extra para estar siempre en condiciones de llegar a la meta.
“Vengo con esa ilusión, con ese sueño de poder sumar, aportar lo mío, ayudar al club, dar lo máximo de mi, voy a trabajar al cien por cien, soy muy profesional, dejo todo, es un poco de lo que me caracteriza en lo futbolístico, de siempre dar el máximo y más con este club que me da la oportunidad de seguir mi carrera en Tijuana, eso la verdad lo valoro mucho, me voy a brindar al máximo para lograr cosas importantes y poder escribir mi propia historia en Tijuana”, agregó el central con experiencia en el futbol europeo, concretamente en Rumanía y Croacia.
Para Velázquez, su forma de ser es similar a la forma de ser del equipo Xoloitzcuintle, el cual tiene el objetivo de crecer y seguir siendo un club protagonista del balompié nacional.
“A pesar de que el club tiene poco tiempo, se ve un equipo muy maduro, siempre las veces que nos tocaba jugar en contra sabíamos que íbamos a una cancha complicada, contra un equipo muy complicado, siempre sabíamos eso de Tijuana, a pesar de la poca experiencia y pocos años que tiene en primera, demuestra ser un club importante, serio, con grandes jugadores, y eso se lo han ganado los jugadores, todo el grupo; eso hay que cuidarlo y ojalá que podamos seguir por ese mismo camino, de ser siempre un equipo difícil, que a todos les cueste poder ganarnos, tratar de seguir en eso y mejorar los logros que ya tiene”, explicó.
Este lunes Velázquez, junto al plantel Xoloitzcuintle, cumplió con la primera semana de pretemporada en Mazatlán, donde permanecerán hasta este viernes 22 de Junio.

New Club Tijuana defender looking forward to first season win team
MAZATLAN, Mexico (June 18, 2018) –Julian Velazquez joined his new team a few days ago. The Argentine defender is already getting used to his co-workers.
“I was able to settle in quickly and I am getting used to my teammates,” Velazquez said from preseason camp in Mazatlan. “I am happy because I came to a great group. You can tell and see it. It makes it easier to get used to a group a lot quicker when it’s a group like this one.”
Velazquez joined the group and he also immediately set goals.
“I will provide what I can to the maximum so that we can achieve great things with Xolos,” Velazquez said. “From the start since I got a call from Diego (Cocca) telling me he wanted me here for next season. I was happy about it and didn’t have doubts to say no because of the interest the coach had. I am happy and thankful to Tijuana.”
The 27-year-old from Corrientes, Argentina said he is a player who likes to play to the fullest of his ability.
“I am going to work at 100-percent and leave everything on the field,” Velazquez said. “I don’t have any regrets after a game because I leave everything out there. That’s what identifies me when I am on the field, I give it my all. I am 100-percent committed to what (the coach) will need. He can be at peace about that because I will completely commit to the team.”
And part of Velazquez’ plan is not just to fit in with the squad but also help the team continue to be a contender in the LIGA MX.
“I haven’t been with the team long but I can see that it’s a very mature group,” said Velazquez, who came from Cruz Azul. “Every time we got to play against (Xolos) we knew we were going into a difficult field against a tough team. We always knew that about Tijuana despite the little experience and few years of being here. It shows that it’s an important club, a serious one with great players. The players have earned that, the entire group has. We need to take care of that and hopefully we can continue the same path. We always want to be a tough team that makes it difficult for others to beat and try to be better than what it has already achieved.”
Monday Velazquez completed the first week of preseason training camp on the beach with Club Tijuana. The team will remain here through June 22.
