Paraguayan midfielder comes from Queretaro FC

TIJUANA (June 23, 2019) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles singed Jorge Luis
Rojas for the upcoming LIGA MX 2019 Apertura. The Paraguayan midfielder
comes from Queretaro FC.

The 26-year-old began his career in the Club Cerro Porteño youth
divisions in his home country earning his way up to the first division.
He made his debut in a Copa Libertadores match in 2011. He won a title
in the Peruvian league in 2012.

Rojas is a speedy player who stands out on one-on-one play eventually
getting attention in European soccer. He went on to play at Benefica of
Portugal in 2013 and later went on to play for Belenenses of the
Portuguese second division.

In 2014, Rojas returned to South America to play for Gimnasia y Esgrima
de La Plata and he went on to play for Cerro Portero where he won a
first division title in 2017.

Rojas is also a national team player. He began the national team
process with the Under-17 and Under-20. He helped his national team to
an Under-20 runner-up finish in the Campeonato Sudamericano. That result
helped get his team into the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2013. Paraguay
reached the Round of 16 in that competition.

He made his debut with the senior Paraguayan national team in 2012 in a
match against Guatemala under coach Francisco Arce. He was also part of
the national team under coach Victor Geneo in 2013 in a friendly against
Germany.
