El DT Xoloitzcuintle analizó el encuentro ante Pumas en la Fecha 14 del
Clausura 2019
Ciudad de México, 14 de Abril de 2019._ Los Xoloitzcuintles finalizaron
con el marcador en contra (1-0) tras su visita a Pumas en el Estadio
Universitario, sin embargo, el Club Tijuana se mantiene en los puestos
de Liguilla tras jugarse 14 jornadas del Clausura 2019.
“Vamos a seguir peleando”, adelantó el DT Óscar Pareja en la
conferencia de prensa posterior al encuentro en C.U. “Tenemos tres
partidos, hemos ganado el derecho por pelar por la Liguilla, seguimos en
puestos para avanzar y no vamos a bajar los brazos”, agregó.
El estratega colombiano resaltó el trabajo realizado por el plantel en
general y señaló la importancia de la incorporación de jugadores
juveniles en el partido, sobre todo el debut de Carlos Higuera en el
arco Rojinegro.
“La generosidad y la disciplina táctica estuvo acorde a lo que
trabajamos”, dijo. “El despmeño de los muchachos fue muy bueno, el pico
alto del grupo fue la participación de los jóvenes, Carlos hizo un gran
partido en su debut, y estamos contentos con su desarrollo”, comentó
Pareja.
El Club Tijuana suma 22 puntos en la octava posición de la tabla
general con marca de siete partidos ganados, uno empatado y seis
perdidos.
Ahora los Xoloitzcuintles retornarán a la Frontera de Tijuana, de cara
a la Fecha 15 del campeonato, en la que recibirán la visita de Lobos
BUAP el próximo viernes 19 de Abril en el Estadio Caliente.

Club Tijuana coach analyzed Week 14 match against Pumas UNAM
MEXICO CITY (April 14, 2019) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles played to a
1-0 loss against host Pumas UNAM Sunday at Estadio Universitario.
Carlos Gonzalez sent in a header off a corner kick in the 87th minute
of the LIGA MX 2019 Clausura Week 14 match. Gonzalez out jumped his
defender while Club Tijuana goalkeeper Carlos Higuera could not reach
the ball. Gonzalez’ header went past Higuera, who made his Mexican first
division debut, into the net. The scoring play was the clearest chance
at scoring for Pumas in a match in which the home side could not create
an attack most of the match.
It was Club Tijuana who created most scoring chances, including a 79th
minute play that had Fabian Castillo sending a low-rolling shot off the
right post. Pumas’ goal keeper Alfredo Saldivar had already been beat.
Club Tijuana remains in playoff position despite the loss against
Pumas.
“We are going to keep fighting,” Pareja said during his post-match news
conference. “We have three games left. We’ve earned the right to fight
for the playoffs. We are in a position to advance and we will not give
up.”
The Xoloitzcuintles did not give up chances to create scoring threats
against Pumas.
Ariel Nahuelpan nearly scored for the Xoloitzcuintles in the 52nd
minute. The Argentine striker got his head on a cross by Ignacio Rivero
but couldn’t connect enough to send at goal.
Pareja said his team connected during the match enough that the
Colombian manager praised his squad for its effort, including the young
players (Antonio Nava, Jesus Angulo, Higuera) making a start against
Pumas.
“Our game and tactical discipline today was what we worked on,” Pareja
said. “The work done by the youngsters was great. The peak of our game
was having them participate and we are happy with their development.”
The Xoloitzcuintles remain at 22 points in the standings with a 7-6-1
record. Club Tijuana will return from Mexico City to prepare for its
next match, a Week 15 home game against Lobos BUAP April 19 at Estadio
Caliente.
