Tijuana, Baja California, 21 de octubre de 2017._ El equipo femenil del Club Tijuana igualó 2-2 ante su similar de Toluca en el marco de la Jornada 13 de la LIGA MX Femenil-Apertura 2017 qdisputado esta tarde en la cancha del Estadio Caliente.
En el minuto 24, las Xoloitzcuintles abrieron el marcador con anotación de Rosa Aguiar, quien aprovechó un error de la arquera para convertir el 1-0.
En la recta final de la primera mitad, Rosa Aguiar desbordó por la banda izquierda a gran velocidad y logró concretar su segundo tanto de la tarde. Al 65’, Valeria Barajas estuvo muy cerca de incrementar la ventaja con un disparo de larga distancia que pasó apenas por un costado del arco.
Las redes volvieron a moverse al 77’. María Mauleon acercó a las visitantes y puso el 2-1. Dos minutos más tarde, Kenya Téllez logró igualar el encuentro a dos tantos (77’).
Tras el empate, el cuadro Rojinegro llegó a 16 unidades, producto de 4 victorias, 4 empates y 5 tropiezos. Las Xoloitzcuintles cerrarán el torneo enfrentando a Cruz Azul el próximo viernes 27 de octubre en el Estadio Azul (16:00 hrs Centro).

CLUB TIJUANA WOMEN’S TEAM TIES VS. TOLUCA AT HOME
Xoloitzcuintles 2-2 CD Toluca LIGA MX 2017 Apertura Week 13
TIJUANA-(Oct. 21, 2017) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles women’s team played to a 2-2 tie against visiting CD Toluca Saturday at Estadio Caliente.
Rosa Aguiar (24th and 44th minute) scored the pair of Club Tijuana goals but Toluca answered with second half scores. Maria Mauleon cut the lead 2-1 in the 78th minute and Kenya Kellez tied the game in the 80th.
The Xoloitzcuintles began the match controlling possession and held Toluca from creating scoring chances with a stout defense early on. Toluca tried to catch Club Tijuana on counter attacks, long passes but the Xoloitzcuintles used an effective offside trap on several occasions in the Week 13 match.
Both teams continued to look for the game-winner late in the game, exchanging scoring opportunities. Toluca had a shot crash off the post and the Xoloitzcuintles nearly took a 3-0 lead. It caught Toluca goalkeeper Dayan Tellez off her line as second half substitute Valeria Barajas tried a volley from about 35-yards out. Tellez recovered and reached the ball near the goal line.
Club Tijuana earned a point in the 2017 Apertura standings and it is now 4-5-4 with 16 points. Coach Andrea Rodebaugh’s team has one match remaining in this inaugural professional woman’s regular season. It will travel to face Cruz Azul Friday Oct. 27.
Toluca remains in the hunt for one of two semifinal spots in Group 1. The top two teams in each group move on to the semis. Toluca is 7-4-2 with 23 points.
