XOLOITZCUINTLES ALISTA SU DEBUT EN EL APERTURA 2018
Ignacio Rivero y Martín Lucero compartieron sus expectativas previas al
arranque del torneo
Tijuana, Baja California, 17 de julio de 2018._ El Club Tijuana encara
el arranque del torneo Apertura 2018 de la LIGA MX en la que recibirán
al CD Guadalajara el próximo sábado 21 de julio en el Estadio Caliente
en el marco de la Fecha 1.
Este martes, el Conjunto Fronterizo llevó a cabo una sesión matutina de
entrenamiento en las instalaciones del Mictlán. Tras la práctica, los
Xoloitzcuintles Ignacio Rivero y Juan Martín Lucero vaticinaron un
torneo interesante, en el que buscarán llegar más lejos que en el recién
pasado Clausura 2018.
“Fue una gran pretemporada, trabajamos muy intenso, fuimos puliendo
esos detalles para llegar a esta semana de gran forma. Los compañeros
que llegaron están haciendo muy bien las cosas, se integraron muy bien
al grupo”, mencionó Ignacio Rivero.
El ‘8’ Rojinegro destacó la importancia de hacer valer la localía.
“Será muy importante sumar puntos de visita, en casa no se nos pueden
escapar los tres puntos, ahí estará la clave. La vara quedó muy alta
porque el torneo pasado llegamos a semifinales y hay equipo para repetir
y hacer más”, indicó.
En tanto, Juan Martín Lucero destacó la mentalidad ganadora del
plantel. “Es importante creer en nosotros. El equipo tiene una dinámica
y un estilo de juego marcado. Mantener el proceso con Diego y adaptarnos
a su idea hace las cosas mucho más fáciles”, concluyó el “9” Rojinegro.
Los Xoloitzcuintles continuarán con las actividades este miércoles por
la mañana en la cancha del Estadio Caliente.

XOLOITZCUINTLES PREPARING FOR SEASON OPENER
Ignacio Rivero and Martin Lucero preview Week 1 match vs. Chivas
TIJUANA (July 17, 2018) –The start of the new season is days away. No
more out-of-town training camps or preseason games. The regular season
is here and Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles has begun training ahead of the
season opener against Chivas.
Coach Diego Cocca’s team makes its LIGA MX 2018 Apertura debut Saturday
at Estadio Caliente with the Week 1 match against Guadalajara.
Midfielder Ignacio Rivero and striker Martin Lucero spoke about the
preparation process that began in June as the team gears for another
Mexican soccer tournament.
“It was a great preseason,” Rivero said during a news conference
Tuesday after a morning training session. We completed intense work. We
polished those final details this week. The new teammates that came in
are doing things well. They integrated well into the group.”
Rivero also spoke about the team’s chemistry and bonding that took
place during preseason camp in Mazatlan. Players learned plenty from
each other and from coaches. But one thing that they know will be
important is to be a dominant force at home.
“It will be important to get these three points at home,” Rivero said.
“We can’t let those points get away. That’s the key. We set the bar high
with our semifinals run last season. We have a team that can repeat that
and do more.”
Much like Rivero, Lucero also spoke about the team’s mentality and
focus on the start of the season. He said the team has developed a
dynamic style of play.
“It’s important to believe in each other,” said Lucero, also during a
news conference. “We need to keep a good process with (coach) Diego
(Cocca) and adapt to his ideas. That will make everything easier.”
The Xoloitzcuintles will continue with training sessions this week
ahead of the match against Chivas. Practice resumes Wednesday morning at
Estadio Caliente.
